One never knows exactly what affect a photograph will have; they are, in a sense “time captures.” Although not nostalgic or sentimental by nature, I am however intrigued by the depth and variance of feeling that a simple ‘moment in time’ capture can invoke on an audience. Moments that we can often never replicate or recapture because are in essence, gone; forever lost.

As an artist/photographer Sean Hickey is most interested in capturing beauty which is in the heart and to show people in an elegant and natural way. Never pre-planning a photo shoot, he instead goes with the flow and most often relies on spontaneity and comfort between him and the model. With established arrangements with commercial agencies and studios in various cities, Sean is always willing to travel, and books assignments worldwide.

TFCD's - My Arrangements.
TFCD Shoots – Things you need to know.
I receive a lot of queries about models wanting to do TFCD shoots and I often don’t have time to respond to individual queries. I’ve therefore written a few notes to give you an idea of the way that I work.
How often do I do TFCD shoots?
I mainly do commissioned work (which takes priority over TFCD shoots). However, I am usually able to do approximately one TFCD shoot a month. Please understand that I do have a waiting list, so please don’t be offended if I am unable to fit you in.
TFP/TFCD - Time for Prints or Time for CD
What is TFP/TFCD? This is a term commonly used to refer to an even exchange between a model and a photographer where neither the model nor the photographer gets paid. Instead it is a barter arrangement where in exchange for the models time, they get a CD with images taken on the day.
These type arrangements are fairly common, and can be a wonderful opportunity for aspiring models and photographers to build their portfolios.
Model Release Form
I ask all models to sign a standard model release form. I am only able to offer TFCD shoots on condition that you are willing to sign a model release.
Please can you bring ID with you so that I can confirm you are over 18 and that the details on the model release form are accurate.
Chaperones
Models are welcome to bring an adult chaperone to the shoot and chaperones are not permitted to take their own photos during the shoot.
Models under 18
I will only do shoots with models who are under 18 if a parent or legal guardian is present throughout the shoot. You need to confirm before the shoot that your parent/guardian is willing to sign your model release form.
Copyright and Model Use of Photographs
The copyright for the photos remains with the photographer. This is the legal position, the industry standard and nothing to worry about. You may use the images supplied in any way that promotes you as a model, providing that you are not selling the photographs or selling licenses for their use in any way.
If you do come across someone who wishes to pay to use the images, please let me know and we can negotiate terms so that it will be favourable to both of us.
Web use: If you use the photos on a website promoting your modelling services, I would appreciate it if you could give me a credit as follows: “Photograph by Sean Hickey” – I understand that this will not always be possible on some portfolio websites.
Fees and Travelling Expenses
By definition TFCD work is not paid work as such (payment is in the form of the images supplied on CD). Travelling Expenses will only be paid if they have been agreed in advance.
