About me
I'm a singer and a guitar player and I write songs and music and stuff because it helps me unmuddle my mind. I was in a band called Mohair for many years and now I am releasing records under my own name. I have a little record label called daddy Max Records and I will be releasing 3 new albums in 2010.
Please have a look at www.tombillington.co.uk
and become a friend on my facebook page
or follow me on Twitter
The album is called "Make No Bones" and it was recorded in one week in January of this year using my favourite classical and folk musicians whom I have met on my various musical travels.... it's nothing like the bulk of the Mohair material unless you were into our rarer acoustic material that we used to do at specific acoustic shows...
I have set up a little record label and am doing EVERYTHING myself... including writing, producing and mixing the record but I am also in charge of trying to promote it.... so basically, I need all the help, love and support I can get!
The record is available for pre order on
amazon, as a download and hopefully in CD format too
HMV.com and
Play.com
and will be on itunes on monday next week.
Alternatively you can go straight to my website and click BUY. Please let me know if you have any trouble.
I will be playing some live dates so keep an eye out for those on the facebook page etc.
I have been working in circus, theatre and TV as well as gigging with various band and have re-discovered a reason, a love and a passion for song writing and have committed myself to the bonkers task of releasing 3 albums of new material this year.

You called me. I missed your call. I forgot to call you back. Then I remembered. Now I'm at work and can't call you back.
What did thee want of me? x

Tom... I've been meaning to ask you for the last couple of weeks if your splendid band ever do a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama? One of the radio stations I have to monitor in my job is Virgin, and I heard it a couple of weeks back and thought of you guys. I reckon you'd do a top job on it.
Chris Rock has used a (large) sample of it in his new track (debatable whether it is good or not), but I'd love to hear you guys play it too! Hope ya well youth..

Spoke to Mark, the guy I'm writing the tv show for, and have thrown your musical hat in the ring. Its a little early, but when the time comes he's keen to meet up and discuss what he is after. Will keep you posted.

Tom, I have a vague memory, from Sunday, of Tamborine Bill saying he had a DVD of Los Canyoneros for me. Then he disappeared into the night and I'm left wondering whether I was mad, or drunk, or both? Can you shed any light on this problem? Em X

Your "about me" bit sounds a lot like David Brent - "I would say I was a friend first and a boss second......probably an entertainer third."

Yo yo yo! Sorry missed the end of the gig yesterday. Loved what I heard though. The Canyoneros version of Ohio is smashing ol' boy and my sis loved the impromptu Stanley sing-along. Good way to end a great weekend...
Nose is now firmly back to the grindstone, but the stack of music you left is keeping me happy! Appreciate it mate. Ill get everyhting back to you with camera as soon in a couple of days.
